Robert Finlay

Partner in owning and operating Kayak Lake Mead

I grew up on the water. Originally from Cape Cod, summers were spent rowing, swimming, and sailing. In 2006, I started my career as a kayak guide, leading tours of the inlets and islands of Buzzard’s Bay and Vineyard Sound.

At the same time, I began my training as a wilderness first responder. I earned my EMT in 2007 and served as an on-call firefighter on the island of Martha’s Vineyard for 9 years. Recently, I completed Swiftwater Rescue Level IV with the American Canoe Association. An enthusiastic snowboarder, I’ve also had extensive training in backcountry travel and avalanche rescue.

From life on the sea to the Mojave Desert, every day is an adventure in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. Emerald green waters, towering canyon walls, quiet coves, hot springs, and sunny beaches. It’s true a desert oasis. Now in partnership with Robert Finlay, I guide and help run Kayak Lake Mead. Let’s get out there!

See ya paddling,

Jim and I had a great trip with Morgan to Emerald Cove (10/23). The scenery is gorgeous and Morgan is a great guide. Thanks for helping us arrange a perfect adventure. ~ Cindy
